My only complaint is that sometimes it fails to recognize that a source is available and wont let you switch to it

Powering off and on the switch fixes it but does obviously interrupt anyone else watching outputs

I bought this switch to get rid of all the plugging and unplugging of wires to watch different sources at different tvs
