I tried but failed to use this to convert stereo sound from my samsung galaxy s4 phone to mono so that i would hear both the left and right track as a single mono output

For this go to settings and then accessibility and check mono audio you will need to select hearing first with the latest android

Doing a little more research you may be able to use a stereo to mono combiner to do what i attempted to do
