    It appears to have something like the rpm6938 ir receiver chip which is used in my avr to receive ir from the remote

    However the avr320 provides a remote control input jack which does not provide power and expects the source to drive an optocouplersomething this cable cannot do

    My solution was to repurpose a nearby stereo phone jack to provide standby 5v and to connect the cable directly to the internal remote control bus rmc driven by the avrs own ir receiver
