Pros & Cons
Pros
Small baggie of inserts are what separate and align the conductors. The insert works well and makes crimping much easier. There is an extra packet inside that has the inserts for the plugs. Stick the insert into the plug and crimp.
Just pull the wires through, snip the excess, and insert it into the connector. Rj-45 is the most popular connector.
These connectors seem to work well with 24 awg cat5 cable. True for cat5/5e.
Cons
These are slow to install. On my second crimp just pin 1 missed. I tried crimping these wth several different brands of quality crimp tools.
The contacts on these plugs are only partially gold plated. Cheap garbage. The insert is a joke.
Highlights

Every crimp is like that with this product.
Packaging/appearance
My only fault would be with the packaging.
If you've never used this type before you can find a guide on the monoprice site; or just google it.
Competitiveness
These work great with monoprice's own cat6 cable and klein's ratcheting crimp tool.
Solid value and work well with monoprice cat 6
I have crimped hundreds, no thousands of cat5 cables.
I used 24awg cat6 cabling and it's a fairly tight fit so i'm not sure if 23awg will work out well with these plugs.
