Pros
If you need to connect a tv to a desktop computer, this is probably what you're looking for. Just add an hdmi cable and you are all set to watch your hd tv.
Hdmi-to-vga converter works great. Works beautifully and removes the analog noise the same monitor suffered from when using a plain old vga cable.
The edge covering around the thumb screws are much thicker than my previous dvi-hdmi adapter. Use in the back of a two monitors with only dvi input and a video card with no dvi out.
Cons
Both produce (different) unstable images. Incredibly frustrating, just eyeballing all the other recent reviews. Thanks for followup.

I had to use a shop grinder to flatten the edges and now both fit perfect.
This dvi/hdmi adapter did exactly what i wanted done in as compact a form as i could imagine.
The fit was a little tight due to the design of my monitor and the angle of the dvi.
Heads up if you're using two: the edge covering around the thumb screws are much thicker than my previous dvi-hdmi adapter.

Needed to switch a few wall monitors from hdmi to dvi not sure why but the hdmi connection from the desktop was causing display issues

Its just excess plastic that serves no purpose but obviously is a problem if your graphic cards dvi out are too near
