Wanted to use it with my intel nuc which came without a dvi port and its minihdmi port is not capable of feeding a duallink monitor at full resolution

The nuc is running 247 but the monitor is powered off several times a day

However it wont wake up the display sometimes need to unplug it from either usb power or dp but this happens very rarely once a week or so while the mac is in heavy daily use and its unclear if this is by some apple firmware usb 3
