However, a few customers reported issues with loose connections or no sound at all, requiring additional equipment for optimal performance.
Connector Design
Customers have mixed opinions regarding the connector design of this Monoprice Premium S/PDIF (Toslink) Digital Optical Audio Cable. While some appreciate its heavy-duty construction and sturdy build, others find it bulky and difficult to use due to its large connectors that can cause misalignment with the light source or not fit into smaller recessed plugs.
Highlights
Quality
This product has performed in a manner that meets all my expectations for top quality sound in my system.
These are well made and the last one we had is going strong after 7 years.
First dac i bought "musou digital optical coax to analog rca audio" had poor volume.
If you have your system that's setup and them left and never touched or moved, this cable is probably overkill.
Price
No complaints and the price is right!
Monoprice stuff is always an awesome deal on quality merch.
A bargain when compared to what the store charges
In the world of digital cables you don't need much, that's why i spent under $10 on this one.
Competitiveness
I use this as a relay cable between my onkyo cd player and my monolith monoprice external dac.
Monprice has some nerve making all these high quality things (cables, headphones, etc) for such a cheap price.
The metal ends are nice, but they printed the brand name on the *side* instead of the top.

Has the appearance of being way over built but the plugs are crooked so the square terminals are always going to look twisted when they are plugged in

This would not bother me if they didnt try to overdo the ascetics so much

I dont think the sound changes at all when you use a fat or a skinny optical cable

So every time i have to plug this back in i have to carefully examine the slightly dshaped tip to see which way is up

And that dshaped tip is plastic so i dont want to jam it in the wrong way
