Pros

The monoprice sous vide works great. The -ap suffix designates the lid style that matched the monoprice model along with a few others. Sous vide is our new favorite cooking style. Put it on grill to sear 2 minutes to brown.

If you've ever wondered how restaurants get their prime rib to be the same doneness all the way through, this is it. Makes sirloin and flank steak tender while allow them to stay medium rare. All the food comes out very tender and juicy.

The mount, while made of plastic, actually feels sturdy and high quality. And so far, quite durable. Giving several as gifts this xmas.



Cons

It is clear that this sous vide is malfunctioning. Reset the device and attempted to adjust temp to no avail. Tried celsius. Unfortunately, hers is defective.

Very disappointed with the short lifespan of this project. The electronic chip controlling these devices is a piece of junk.

    My sous vide stick which i use several times a week started to behave erratically so i switched to my spare yes i’m that hooked but because the initial one was on its way out i started looking for my new “spare

    If this was critical i could calibrate the temperature by up to 9 degrees celsius whatever that is in fahrenheit but i’m okay with a couple of degrees either way and the cooking temperature is easily adjustable using the wheel on the front
