Overall i am very happy with the purchase!
It works well with android, but will not let you type with the built in keyboard (this is android's fault, not the scanner).
It is compatible with 'serialmagic' software and operates seamlessly with the smartphone i'm using.
I confirmed this on several computers, using several versions of os x up to the latest, and with the latest firmware on the scanner.
