Price
Having my own cable modem saves me $10/month that the cable company would charge to rent theirs.
I bought this little beast in june 2014 to save money on that cable modem monthly rental fee.
Still can’t beat the price i paid.
I bought this modem sb6141 on may 2013 for $68, it was well worth it as it's still functioning as of today (feb 2018).
Shipping
The price was right, it arrived quickly, and as i already knew, motorola makes a solid product.
Packaging/appearance
I guess you don't get customer support with the oem brown box version, but i haven't needed it.
Competitiveness
This has worked fine with xfinity and a net gear ac1200 router.
Nowadays i'm sure it's just comparable, but i don't ever have plans that can squeeze out the 300+ mbps of this device.

Very few problems for general use and speed is very high whenever ive tested it but i have had to cycle it on and off from time to time if it starts to stutter while streaming movies
