Pros

Good flavor and texture. Tasty and easy to fix.

Mountain house by far is the best flavored freeze dried food there is. Open up the packet and shake it before heating the water. Given that i just ate dehydrated food with a 30-year shelf-life, this is alchemy.

Light weight and great for back packing or camping in general. A little bulky in a pack, which is a downside if you prioritize space. Shelf stable too.

Using stove top is best because there was a little crunch from not rehydrating. Hydrated pretty well.

Cons

Would never buy this again. It should of been called peas and dumplings with the occasional bit of chicken.

Per the directions, i poured boiling water into the pouch, stirred and let it sit for 5 minutes.

My only complaint and the only reason i can not give them a 5 star review is because the cost.

Buy these from amazon for great savings.

If i don't catch these on sale, i will not buy.

I bought them on sale and will buy more when they go on sale again.

And it is very easy to transport and packs well.

Delivered in as advertised condition and in a timely manor.

There is also a great amount of food in the package.

I let it sit a bit longer than suggested on the packaging and used the recommended amount of water.

I bought one packet to test it, with the idea of fixing it for supper during cold weather if i liked it.

Competitiveness

I have tried several brands and a lot of them are too salty for me.

I honestly wasn't expecting much because it's freeze-dried, but it is comparable to canned soup.
