The quality is better than any other freeze dried food we have tried.
It’s certainly not cheap, but the food quality is great, and the three-decade shelf life can’t be beat.

Price
Price is a bit steep but part of it is how light this is and how long you can store it.
The price is the part that made me hesitant about trying them but i would reorder these after trying them.
Right now it is $9 and for that price i would probably hold off.
Packaging/appearance
Resealable zip-top mylar packaging is approximately 9 1/2-inches x 8 3/8 inches x 2 inches thick weighing 6.
Just eat it out of the bag for easy clean up.
The packaging is updated but this tastes like the same chili mac beef as before from mountain house.
Competitiveness
Our mountain house recommendationsmy friends and i have been backpacking for a long time and have tried many packable meals and brands.
It is nourishing and filling, qualities which are important in food when hiking or in prepper supplies.
It is not a gourmet dinner at a five-star restaurant.
Bought a 4-pack for the bug out bag but i just had to sample one to know what i was getting into.
