Pros & Cons
Pros
For quick and easy backpacking food, this cannot be beat. Pro separate them into two portions and put each in a ziplock bag. In my bag, there was a large uncut strip of chicken.
The “two serving “might be a little scant for two people but with a few additions (salad, fruit, rolls etc) it makes a perfect meal.
Non-gmo, yet still has a shelf life of 30 years. Durable multi-use packaging. Expiration date is years in the future.
This meal is gluten-free since my so has real deal celiac. I really like to have meal options that aren't some boring chili or stew kind of thing. This is one of the better meals that i have tried by mountain house.
Cons
Pad thai is just strong fish aroma and taste from start to finish. It has a strong fish smell and taste.
Highlights
Quality
Quality has been consistent, even through the prep food shortages of the lockdowns.

Too much or too little will result in either soggy or not completely hydrated.
First off, if you think this or any freeze dried camp food pad thai, is going to taste like waking up in bangkok… you are nuts.
Price
Having this for a normal lunch, it was just as tasty as when camping and a pretty good value for 10 bucks.
Nice addition to the "hurricane kit", or for a stay at home meal (they are cheaper than getting fast food take out, here in hawaii anyway).
The mountain house portion sizes are unfortunately small lately, this was about $2.
These aren't overly expensive considering the shelf life, portability, convenience, and yummmm factor.
Packaging/appearance
Delicious, satisfying, packed with flavor 4 star only because i ate the entire bag.
Another plus is that the packet sits sturdily upright while cooking, and retains its shape well enough to eat directly from the pouch.
Package says 2 servings but it's a good portion for 1.
Which if you backpack is a primary issue when packing provisions.
Competitiveness
Beats the other brands by far in taste and and a hefty 30 yr shelf life provides some security for me and my family should anyt... Read More
