The quality is really nice, waterproof, so it keeps the heat in with vents under the arms that can be unzipped to allow air in.
That is probably part of their breathable claim, along with the pit zips.
Competitiveness
It was 40 degrees out and this over a t-shirt and a pair of shorts was comfortable after the first half mile.
(can't imagine why some people comment that this is a problem)i wish the under arm zip openings were larger in size.

The only odd thing about the jacket is you have to zip the jacket with your left hand
