The pocket also has an access point at the bottom of the pack so you can access items at the bottom of the pack without having to go through all your stuff to get to the items on the bottom
The bag also comes with a waterproof cover which is stored in a zipped compartment in the bottom of the pack
In my experience this pack has the waist support slightly higher than other packs that i have used but that could be due to my height
Overall the pack is very comfortable even with my gear in it as the weight is nicely distributed for a 40 pack
