Pros & Cons
Pros
Water bladder space is fantastic and it fits nice and snug and comfortably! The knapsack itself is so light that's easy to stay under the airline's limits, even when loaded to the gills. Perfect sturdy bag.
The compartment design is deep, it holds a lot! The pocket fit wallet and keys. Pockets are practical and it's compact. One issue is that it does not have a shallow pocket for pens and such.
More comfy then my more expensive one. Very comfortable pack used for everyday commuting. Just spent 4 days in munising, mi doing day hikes all around pictured rocks.
Highly recommended. Good quality. Worked great. No problem at all.
It fit in the overhead of even the small connector flight. It's not bulky or oversized. Same size as a regular backpack.
Cons
The backpack is light and well finished, but definitely not for travelling even if you are a light packer. The sternum strap, where adjustable, isn't well portioned. Do not recommend for serious hikers.
There is manufacturing defect where the loops was not inserted rendering it useless. The solid backing material pops back and forth. The internal frame is a cheap piece of cardboard.
Highlights
Quality
The quality is great on both and i would definitely recommend either.
What surprised me is the quality for such a reasonable price.
As a short torso woman, i put it on (without adjusting) and was immediately hit in the bottom of the neck/head with the plastic.
The backpack did come with the rain cover in the pocket on the bottom.
Price
Other than that, for the price, i am very happy.
Packaging/appearance
I have also washed the pack several times--after every major overseas trip.
There isn't anything i haven't been able to bring in the pack.
I might need water shoes and wouldn't want to put them back inside the pack after use.
Competitiveness
It is longer than a typical daypack and has a piece of plastic inside to support the shape.
I thought i was ordering a regular daypack backpack with some bells and whistles.
I own another 40l with more capacity than thjs 40l.
We did a 12mi hike and my pack weighed about 20lbs.
