Pros & Cons
Pros
The compartment design is deep, it holds a lot! It has three large zippered compartments and a pouch on each side to carry water bottles or others items. It has an internal compartment for a water bladder. Several compartments for storing gear.
The straps and buckles are sturdy, and the padding is very comfortable. Love the top strap adjustment feature. My trekking poles fit very nicely, though i plan to be using them and not packing them lol.
The pack is a bit heavier than other similar packs, but so worth it. The fuchsia color is lovely, there is lots of storage, a low back support strap. The first test of the pack is in a couple of weeks where we will be hiking into the grand canyon.
Good size for a day or two hike. Perfect size for touristing overseas. I am a beginner in terms of long range distance travel.
Cons
The backpack is light and well finished, but definitely not for travelling even if you are a light packer. The backpack, where adjustable, isn't well portioned. Do not recommend for serious hikers.
The straps are really rough and sandpapery. The internal frame is a cheap piece of cardboard. Zipper became damaged within first week of use leaving the backpack unusable.
Highlights
Quality
The quality is great on both and i would definitely recommend either.
I have also traveled around the world with the pack, using it for hiking, day trips and air travel.
Definitely recommend if you’re looking to save some money and still get a working product!
The blue color with the gray trim looks classic and the fabric is not showing signs of wear.
Price
Other than that, for the price, i am very happy.
I love everything about this backpack, especially the price, and highly recommend!
Packaging/appearance
I have also washed the pack several times--after every major overseas trip.
The rain sheet works well, but is a bit awkward to put on the pack, especially in the rain!
I might need water shoes and wouldn't want to put them back inside the pack after use.
Competitiveness
It is longer than a typical daypack and has a piece of plastic inside to support the shape.
I own another 40l with more capacity than thjs 40l.
