Pros & Cons
Pros
The mountaintop has a basic belt fastening, but for travelling and carrying a heavier load you need a proper belt system that takes weight off the shoulders. Used for travelling abroad as carry on luggage for a 4 day trip, done the job fine and had no... Read More
The mountaintop 40l hiking backpack is very suitable for this purpose. It is relatively well made and thought out, with good zippers and various practical straps for carrying gear. It has a single zipper and a single strap.
With the hidden hood, it's also waterproof. Has a pocket at the bottom for the provided waterprooof cover and it is big enough for a pair of lightweight adult waterproof trousers. Has been hiking a few times with this backpack now.
The pack is roomy and expandable enough to house a reasonable number of items, but is not too big. The bag has lots of space and the 3 separate zipped compartments ensures i could split the contents as required.
Cons
Company keeps emailing me to sort out problem of it not being a true 40ltr *. The foam inside the arm straps it not comfortable. The backpack claims to be 40 litres - it is 35 litres with an extra 5l hidden somewhere else.

This mountaintop 40l hiking backpack i got for regular day-to-day use carrying a light to mid load.
