I thought about the vango sherpa 7010 very popular for dofe expeditions which is a little less expensive than this but does not have a bottom pocket divided from the main compartment front access and neither is it made from waterproof material

Unfortunately i cannot tell you how tear resistant the material is because i havent used it enough but my previous rucksack was supposedly made of a rip stop material similar to the vango sherpa and both of the side pockets tore completely into the main compartment after a couple of dofe expeditions

Some of the features that are not so clearly explained in the description or are obvious from the images are that it has two fairly large side pockets and a separate front pocket
