No matter what volume it is set to the thing blasts out the boot up and down tones like the world has to know you just powered on or off your speaker

The top mounted controls volume updown and power button are easy to use as the buttons are a good size even for my meat hook fingers and have both tactile and audible feedback you know when youve depressed one of the buttons

There is a black strip of rubberized material surrounding the buttons which matches the accents that encircle the speaker this is the same material thats used to protect the outer edges
