That said my storage hard drive has begun to fail they use a 1tb 7200 rpm hgst drive which is a subsidiary of western digital which can be bought from amazon for approximately 65

I contacted msi for a claim and was given two options send the entire laptop in and they will return it with a new drive which will include the recovery partition or send the hard drive in and they will return it without a recovery partition

Due to the fact that i am unable to securely wipe the entire drive and there is no way to ensure the drive does not end up in the wrong hands i am not willing to send the drive intact to msi

I offered to remove and send in the top plate which has the serial number sticker and what not as proof that i am not attempting to get a drive for free

I had an asus republic of gamers before this cant remember the model but it had a 700m something series nvidia video card and it was moderately powerful until the next gen which is now the current gen consoles and games came out thats when i decided i needed to get something better and not just a little better something that would last at least as long as a consoles generation
