Quality
I'm very positively surprised by the quality of the components and the generosity of ports on this board.
Build quality is great and setup easy with the usb provided having all drivers needed.
Msi build quality isn’t as good as gigabyte or asus.
After hours of of building it and being tough with the motherboard it proved to be not enough to do anything to it.
Price
For the price you can't fault it !
It’s staggering that this kind of cost is mid-range now, but you do get a lot for your money.
Complete system cost me just under £1000 excluding the gpu (already owned).
Packaging/appearance
Unlike some boards (asus) the vrm heatsinks don't interfere with tower air coolers so coolers like the noctua nh-d15 fit fine on this.
After doing a lot of research, i found the z690 tomahawk wifi ddr4 was the best companion to my shiny new 12600kf alder lake cpu.
Competitiveness
Originally overpriced but i got this board with a promotion for which made this board pretty decent value vs its competition.
Managed to get one with rebate and that made it a no-brainer for me value wise.

2 slots and all are covered with heatsinks, again some other boards at this price range don't have heatsinks on all the slots.

I originally picked this board for the good mix of io as well as the proven compatibility with xmp on ddr4 which seems to be an issue with some z690 boards at the moment

The bios need an update it works better with a fresh os install as its ment for windows 11 runs the windows 10 but not from an old desktop

If i set the pump to dc in fan control bios would hang and dont download msi fast boot software that will make it boot loop once sorted these things out every thing was great

Oh and if you update bios with the bios flash button make sure you rename the new bios msi

Installation was straight forward and booklet gave good information on hardware but bios information and help is lacking
