Pros & Cons
Pros
It’s whisper quiet and a great quality build. Whether the zero mode button is pressed in or not it makes no difference, it's still uber quiet and well mannered. I know what cow poop smells like because i grew up near cow farms in indiana.
The msi 80 plus gold certification ensures high efficiency and stable power delivery. The black design is minimalist yet elegant, seamlessly blending with my rig's overall look. The msi logo and the overall build quality are top-notch.
The 16 pin pcie 5 connector plugs directly into my rtx 4080. If your building a computer with the new rtx 4090, i suggest you use this power supply.
Full modular design is a game-changer for cable management. No more cord clutter with this well designed machine. Easy to install and completely modular.
Cables are not sleeved, but that's expected at this price point. Comes with an adapter in case your power supply doesn't have the right connector. The 12+4 connector is great though.
Cons
It is not 1000w it is 850w! Buyer beware. Spend extra $40 and save yourself the hassle.
Highlights
Quality
The build quality is great, and i don't feel i need to worry about my psu ever.
I was able to find this psu for a great price with the recommended 850w psu for this card on amd.
I was using a very high quality seasonic before, but it just isn't enough wattage for my i7-13700k + rtx 4090 combo.
Overall i'm happy with the psu but the atx 24 pin was reversed making it difficult to plug into the back of the unit.
Price
Great price, easy install and no fan mode
Packaging/appearance
Deathly quiet even on maximum load, a sleek premium look in both the psu and the packaging, and every cable you would ever need... Read More
Perhaps mine was packaged near a cow processing plant and the air got contained into the shrink wrap.
Honestly, my 550w was semi-modular but it's cables were so much better and cleaner in my case.
Competitiveness
Ample power: with a 1000w capacity, this power supply easily handles my high-end gpu and cpu.
This power supply is an absolute beast, and here's why i'm giving it a 5-star review:reliable power delivery: the 80 plus gold ... Read More
Not any louder than my old 500w power supply.
I went for the 850 watt model.
