It isn't a meg board, but it actually has more layers than the z690i meg board that preceded this. I wished the theme of this board more closely resembled that of the msi z690.

Aesethic board with 6 rgb fan connectors. If you're into rgb it also has nifty mystic light lighting. Lots of rgb and fan headers.

The power delivery is clean with the board and plentiful. Enough meat for the enthusiast to tinker with. Only bad thing is the board was kina expensive.

Mystic lights and their led firmware support is garbage.

- 3pin argb headers are defective and causes any rgb device to flicker.

Otoh the msi z790i is priced very nice and will get you going where you need to go quick.

A set of high-end features for an efficient price.

- expensive with useless vrm fan and argb features.

I would give it 5 stars, but for the $$$ you are paying for there is no manual, i drop a star for that.

No spdif out :c not even the 3 pin connectorthe delivery took ages because seller didn't ship my product for weeks

Packaging/appearance

Everything was accounted for per package contents (mobo, usb (with software drivers), stickers, wifi antenna).

The packaging was good (standard but robust box) with good foam cushioning.

Included in the box is an msi usb thumb drive with driver and utility downloads .

Competitiveness

The msi z790i is probably the best itx z board money can buy.

I looked at similar boards for the price and this fit my style.

One nvme is a gen3 and two are gen4; all three are different brands (samsung, intel and sk hynix).

Msi bios is different from asus so if that is your gripe then that is irrelevant as this board is in its own league.
