You could weigh a small package to figure out how much postage to include and ship from your house without having to go to the busy postal service center

It was definitely a small letdown and it would not take much for the manufacturer to include a couple of inexpensive aaa batteries so that others dont experience a similar letdown when they unbox their new scale
