Pros & Cons
Pros
It's not perfect, but it is a nice sounding little banjo. The price is fabulous and it really sounds fantastic. Packed well and quick shipping.
It is convenient to have a playable banjo with me when ever i am away from home. The instrument itself is good for beginners, both children and adults so long as they have small hands. Just needed to place bridge and tune.
It has a nice little padded gig bag and everything you need. It is not a full size banjo but if the small one is what you need then this is your lucky day! I also like all the accessories that came with it.
It's easier to tune a harley than a banjo, but the bronze strings helped a lot!
Cons
Can't be played. It has been glued incorrectly and should have been caught in ever the most cursory quality control check. I will stick with deering from now on, they are great!
Highlights
Quality
That banjo really delivers great sound and is beautifully made.
The frets are accurate, the neck is straight, it has ok tone, not a bad finish, stays in tune, and it is fun to play.
You can see the stickers it has quality control and that it's made in china, both remove easily.
A big hole in it and not taped that well either !
Price
For this price point everything is very impressive to me.
I think this is a great little banjo for the price.
But i mean with this price point i couldn’t be more happy.
Oh well, the price was right can't expect perfection.
Packaging/appearance
Packaged wrapped, in it's case, in a fitted box, with tools, extra strings, picks, strap, mic, tuner, polish cloth.
That was packed in a bigger box with packing paper.
I read someone said the box it came in had a hole and it, the one i got outside box was roughed up a little but the banjos is i... Read More
Competitiveness
It also has no sharp frets, which is more than i can say for most instruments in this price range (and even some more expensive).
I have two other banjos, a gold tone ob250 and an oscar schmidt ob-5.

Picks are cheap like usual but i mounted the pickup system that came with it shown in pictures and it sounds pretty good

Most of the entry level banjos i had looked at were a bit too pricy for me without knowing if i liked it or not and i also prefer a smaller instrument than a full size banjo

The set up time did take me a while maybe two or three hours but i had never done it before so your mileage may vary

If the notes sound a bit sharp while you are fretting that is normal

I’m used to being able to fret as hard as i want but apparently banjos need to be pressed close to the fret and fairly lightly or it will go out of tune

I had seen a review that said that the strings would be tuned one octave above standard tuning but the strings that came with mine work great for standard tuning so maybe something changed since then

We took it in to see if it could be repaired and the instrument repair man said it would take a lot to fix it
