These are the least leaky straw sippy cups we tried. They aren't as leak-proof as a normal sippy cup, but they don't leak badly. They leak a small amount if laying on their side or upside down.

About the suction - instructions clearly say to squeeze the valve. It works great, my daughter loves these. The trick is to twist the bottom straw hard into the soft straw which seems to work pretty consistently.

Cons
