Pros

This device has a very simple task and it performs that task. A big improvement but not quite blazing. Works as advertised.

At pcie 3. Ssd is fast too. This review is for the m.

Works fine with my ancient tz77a motherboard lga 1155. Works perfectly in my 200 series motherboard.

Usb ports work awesome and ssd integration was flawless. Ssd connects snuggly into the slot. Easy install in old hp slimline.

It has three diodes, seven capacitors, five resistors. The quest is detected by the pc as usb3 and charges the device while using. It still works great but its usb 3. Gen 2 or 3. Thunderbolt 3 and the upcoming usb 4. Wifi to pcie adapter.

Cons

Device headline states it is x4, is actually x1. It was doa, maybe it works for some people but for me it wasn't usable. Physical design of it indicates b&m not willing to buy an m.

Competitiveness

Got this for an easy solution to mount up either an nvme or ahci ssd in a workbench machine.

This is basically a long thin sata drive that looks like a nvme but its not.

I would have been better if it had 1 internal usb port for a 1tb backup drive

I installed a 2tb ssd to my pc using this adapter and it worked great on the first boot.
