Pros
It takes a little elbow grease to snap it shut but my 5 year old manages it fine. It is leak-proof!
No straws or small parts to worry about actually getting clean. If it does get musty though, putting it through the dishwasher (top rack) cleans it well.
Cons
The latch isn’t very child friendly. The plastic latch broke on every single one i purchased. It eventually stopped snapping closed after less than 5 uses.
Do not recommend, disappointed in nalgene product. Bottles are only 12oz. Only 12oz of water/liquid isn't worth the hassle. Secondly, i find the closure part of the lid hard to open myself.

The lock is hard to undo but that may be intentional to keep kids from unlocking it themselves
