Hard plastic means he cant chew through it and render it leaky and the one complaint we have is that when his front teeth are loose theyre coming out one by achingly slow one the cup becomes too difficult to use

We have had them for over a month and i have found that occasionally the silicone insert will pop out and fall into the drink then of course the cup leaks but that happens so rarely and it is generally user error
