If you were trying to use the bag at the mfgs temp rating you would likely have frozen to death but should instruct your estate to give a 1 star amazon review and then sue them for causing your untimely demise

A great lightweight and warm weather bag but not comfortable to sleep on without any other padding

Also im 51 and my body fits into it but there isnt enough room to have the pillow sitting in the mouth of the sleeping bag so the pillow has to go on the groundmattress

I contacted the seller about the temperature rating difference and they said they were sorry and offered to let me return it or refund a portion of the price

By that i mean it did hold up to around 4050 degrees fahrenheit but it would not be good to use it in any colder weather than that
