Pros & Cons
Pros
It's affordable, lightweight, quality build for the most part. Nice and lightweight, can assemble by myself in a snap. Very satisfied on this purchase and look forward to using it more.
The neon guylines are great for not tripping in the dark. Rain fly is of quality build with good seams that are taped to be water tight and the door is well designed without any zipper tension points. Only thing that worries me so far is the fabric pu... Read More
Set up is fast and easy and the tent is durable and doesn't leak. Easy to assemble and repack. Quick to set up and take down.
Big enough for wallet, keys, phone and maybe headlamp. It's definitely a tight squeeze with 2 adults (both 6’2” about 190lbs) the tents are small but my two teenage daughters can sleep in it with two 65l backpacks comfortably.
Cons
Not ultralight backpacking thin, that i know. Materials are abysmal. Not good for winter.
The stakes are lightweight. The poles are also a more brittle than i'd like. If the rain fly isn't staked down, it causes the sides of the tent to collapse inward.
This, realistically, is a 1 person tent (+backpack). It is also not that long (i am 5'7 and almost touch both ends). Packed size is relatively small. Also, it’s very uncomfortable for two adults.
Highlights
Quality
Very happy with the company and their customer service.
Highly reccomend for anyone who cares about where their money goes and the quality of the product.
If you want to fit two adults comfortable go with the 3 person.
Wieghs in at 4lbs 7ozs with the included footprint and stakes.
Price
For the price you can’t beat it.
Most importantly, it is a good price for a lightweight tent.
Shipping
Lightweight and extremely fast and easy to assemble.
Packaging/appearance
Took this tent out on the smokeys .
Haven’t used this in the rain yet—wetness from just from the cold/condensation.
2 of the tent stakes broke the first night while driving them into the soft mud.
I would have liked to see the spredder pole from the up3 incorporated into the up2 as the peak gets a bit narrow if you're tall.
Competitiveness
Awesome tent, fit 2 adults and an 80lb dog.
I purchased this tent for my 24-hour pack because it was inexpensive, but had great reviews.
Out of the ‘box’ review:very light weight.
I got the 210d green and with everything excluding extra guide lines that didn't have stakes to go with them it weighed in on m... Read More
