Pros & Cons
Pros
The gap on the outer corner allows me to access the lever to put up the recliner footrest. The color matches my sectional pretty good, and the cats aren't damaging the furniture.
The velcro is strong. It seems to have deterred my cat from clawing the furniture entirely.
The use this all the time now. Works like a charm. I'm sure it works even better if you use it as intended lol. It’s very useful and solves my issue.
In the photos are added scratchers from ikea. They all have their claws and love to scratch. I only wish the wrap that goes over the top of the couch arm had the same scratchy/protective material as the cats also like scratching there.
Cons
Despite all my attempts to redirect him, the cat scratches everywhere except on the corner and side with the scratching mat. Once the velcro straps were removed there was no way to anchor it. They go to scratch on the piece of exposed couch next to it... Read More
Highlights
Quality
It was very sturdy and well made .
Very easy to install and works great, would have liked it to cover the entire arm
It's been there for a few months now and has held up to scratches multiple times a day.
This photo is after 11 months of scratching from three cats.
Price
Well worth every penny i paid for them to protect my beautiful couch.
Cats love it and extended life of cat tree at resonable price .
Ready to order a replacement but price is great for something that lasts almost a year.
Consider buying just one side first to see if you (and your cat) like it before spending nearly $60 on everything.
Packaging/appearance
Once i got it to fit right on my couch, it looks pretty good.
Exactly as pictured with some hefty velcro to keep it in place.
And it also won't lay completely flat once taken out of the package, but that should be expected with this kind of material.
But if your reason for protecting it is to keep it looking nice, that's a moot point once it's hidden under this sisal mat 🤷🏻♀️.
