Everytime you sharpen the knife it looses grit and goes smooth. After just three months of a sunday roast its smooth in many places and no longer sharpens. Unless i have the misfortune to receive a dud product, this is an absolute waste of money.

Some people prefer to hold the steel top down wedged against a work surface and pull the knife across it

Normal sharpening steels are just steels with little ridges they dont remove material from the knife edge

Wow it’s a lot longer than i expected and doesn’t fit in any of my cutlery trays or the knife block
