I use this all the time for my unboxing videos in order to get an overhead shot, and it works perfectly.
I'd recommend this, or purchase another if i needed a 2nd.

There doesnt seem to be a way to get just enough friction to allow for fine adjustments

At first i was going to give this a 0 star rating because both ends have ball joints and cant hold up the weight of pretty much anything but then i realized i was making a huge mistake
