For the price, this is a great modifier.
Packaging/appearance
They also include a skirt that wraps around the soft box that can help you direct and focused the light.
Comes with a nice storage bag for portability.
I literally took it out of the package and had it set up in 10 seconds.
The box folds down to a large wide umbrella shape.
Competitiveness
I have a tiny small home studio where i shoot, and this light takes up minimal room compared to the other choices of softboxes that i own.
I used it a few times and it performed nearly as well as my other lantern that costs $50 more than this one.

You just have to push down on the speed ring section and theres a hooklatch on the bottom inside that locks it in place

The lantern is more of a special use type of light modifier

I wouldnt use it all the time but it really excels when you need to light up multiple people that are gathered together in a close area
