Pros & Cons
Pros
The polarised filter is a magnetic snap on. The magnet is powerful and the filter simply snaps into place. This allows you to blur movements in water and clouds for interesting effects.
Neewer variable nd filter offers 1 to 5 stops (nd2-nd32) and is available in tread sizes from 58mm to 77mm. While it doesn't offer a massive range of stops, i feel it is better to have a shorter range that guarantees high quality, as opposed to a filt... Read More

This is an excellent magnetic attachment filter, the magnets make things so much easier and quicker.

No more stuck screw-in filters, and you simply rotate the front of the filter to set the stop desired.

£87 at time of reviewas i already own several magnetic filters i can attest to their usefulness but also some drawbacks.
Considering the price, i was surprised it wasn't included.
Yes it may seem a little pricey, but you get what you pay for and it is good quality (i’ve filters that cost £300 plus), yes yo... Read More
Packaging/appearance
The packaging is, as usual, very good and it’s a great addition to my kit.
Competitiveness
I can certainly see the benefits of this with regard to other filters i might need.
It's almost impossible to operate the filter with a lens cap fitted to the camera, but that is the same regardless of the flter brand used.
The price is reasonable when compared to similar offerings and it does perform better than many others i've tested in the past.

A little bit annoying not to have warning of the extra 5mm that this adds to the front end and the need for additional accessories but at least this can be worked around to keep the parts protected

It goes onto the camera easily and rotates smoothly to set the nd value

But there’s also drawbacks none of the magnetic filters i have come with a front thread for lens caps etc so inbetween shots or when you’re moving around you need to unscrew the magnetic filter or have a magnetic lens cap which i have which is fine for walking around but if you place your camera back in your bag it’s easy to knock the lens cap off

This screws on easily without tools and the filter acts as a wrench to tighten and loosen the adapter ring
