This thing is not as crazy solid as a solid steel c-stand but it's a big step up from your average chintzy lightweight light stands. Lightweight but sturdy.

This thing is not as crazy solid as a solid steel cstand but its a big step up from your average chintzy lightweight light stands that come with most background stands and light sets

It is mainly stainless steel in the support arms telescopic poles and what looks to me to be cast aluminum connections between sections with threads made directly into the cast metal

It also looks to have a chromeplated connector at the top

A magnet will stick to the smaller chrome connector at the top but not the telescopic poles or cast connector parts

The connector pieces just don’t have the look or feel of steel

The only minor issue is the feet are plastic and attach directly to the bottom of the tripod legs
