Easy to put on, just loosen the top screw, swing open the top, slide the x3 down and screw the top back down. The only drawback is that it does not have a lens cap.

Nice camera cage for a great price.
At this end of the market, the value is incredible.
Price for it is godo to i can say.
I wish this came with an added case it would be worth it even if it was a little more spendy in my opinion.

In summary, i think i would spend the extra money for the insta360 brand so i can have a built in lens cap.
The neewer action camera frame cage weighs about a half an ounce less than the factory brand.
It has rubber inserts prevent vibration transfer for captured quality rivaling internal gyro gimbals during bumpiest endeavors.

The neewer insta360 x3 metal cage ca010 is a thin aluminum cage that also adds some mounting points

It fits the x3 camera quite fittingly to a tee with a strip of cushioning protection at the bottom of the cage where the camera sits in

It may have a slight protection against bumps and drops if it lands on the cage but more so on the sides and edges only as the lens and also the frontback surface of the camera still protrudes over the cage and is vulnerable

The sides are more flat thus adding two more edges to lay the camera down on a surface increases the total up to 3 out 6 total edges the camera can be safely out down temporarily vs just 1 in the base unit

Although you can change the battery and the mounting points on this frame you cannot put your protective sleeve over it with the case on which leaves your lense exposed while being stored
