The canon r6 mark ii has to have the battery door shut in order to power on

In front of the camera between the lense and battery compartment there is a small trap door that opens for the battery cable to hang out

The camera will recognize it but it will tell you that you need to replace it with the registered battery for this camera and due to safety it will shut down
