The screw part is one the ring so you’ll lose the positionable aspect as far as that goes but then you can still add accessories using the shoe mount giving you some added flexibility over other mounts i’ve used that are usually either or

First and biggest issue is that if you have the thing flat when you put it on the phone you will struggle to get the middle part open
