Pros & Cons
Pros
The curved tips are very useful as you can just reverse them to get into very narrow areas (like when pulling a spanner screw) comes with covers for the four working ends of the instrument. Comes with blade tips on one side (with handy cutouts) and po... Read More
These are good for the occasional lens repairer. Used it to disassemble and repair a canon fd 50mm f1.
Neewer comes with four hand-adjustable screws to hold the pieces at any desired length. Tool adjustable ones that can be tightened even more with the included hex key. The locking mechanism can be * on using the included screws as opposed to the thumb... Read More
This tool is much larger and heavier duty than it looks in the pictures. This tool can also be configured in several ways. This little wrench is a bit flimsy but it is also about one half the cost of the versions a professional camera repair person wo... Read More
Cons
It's like using two flat headed screw drivers instead of a spanner wrench. The retention bolts loosen easily and it's poorly machined so the arms wobble against eachother. The mechanism used to tighten the screws are trash.
Super annoying. Very frustrating experience using this product. I advise you wait for a better quality product to arrive from another platform. This tool is effective for one use maybe.
Highlights
Quality
The tool is all metal and very sturdy.
Only used once so far but it seems to work fine and is alright build quality.
I bought a different tool and had to return it because it wouldn't work to unscrew an element deep inside a long telephoto lens.
They don’t get totally locked down either and can open/loosen up.
Price
This is hard to beat for the price.
Overall this is a great tool at a great price and i am very satisfied.
Found this inexpensive device, assembled it and it got the ring off.
Competitiveness
I've used two sub $20 lens spanners, and i must say this neewer lens spanner is the better-designed one.

Because the shafts were larger in diameter than the tips they would hit the inside of the bens barrel before the tips would engage in the slots of the retaining ring

This one will work because you can reverse the tips so they curve outward allowing the tips to engage the slots in the rings

Frankly im at a loss to understand why they even sell that type of tool because they would probably only work to remove the outermost retaining rings
