Pros

They serve a multitude of purposes, hold a flash very securely, and have held up for years of use now. They are very sturdy and well made. This mount is sturdy and not wobbly at all. Good sturdy product and great quality at a reasonable price.

This is the most simple and secure solution. Attach the mount to a light stand, clamp in your speed light, attach your choice of modifier and you're done.



Cons

The hinge mechanism is not smooth at all. After loosening the hinge all the way, it still takes tremendous force to turn it. My main complaint is that the modifiers you put into this mount, they aren’t securely locked into place.

    The umbrella mount clamp screw for most of these mounts is a small 31634 fine thread screw with a small round knob

    Tightening enough to keep the umbrella from movingturning is impossible
