Was able to hang both a good jvc mic off it and zip tied a web cam for overhead video sharing for spelltable and the entire unit can attach to my desk and clear my 24 monitor for a fairly clean looking install

However you cannot lock it in place because it will bend the metal on the pivot part

The 1st being that the plastic pieces that cover the cable have a slight bow to them so they dont want to stay in place

Second area that could use improvement is the knob that tightens the silver piece the mic screws into forgive me for not knowing what its called

Its made of plastic and feels like its going to break when i apply enough pressure just to keep the mic level

I first purchased another mic boom that was supposed to be good for heavier microphones but it didnt work
