Pros & Cons
Pros
The neewer cage kit is a very solid kit that will allow you to better accessorize your zv-e1 for content creation, when you want more than a minimalist run and gun setup. It's a perfect fit and the two locks work well. Having a cable clamp to minimize... Read More
Smallrig makes an ever-so-slightly better cage than neewer. Built-in rail mount makes it easy to mount on a trip-pod and all the ports are still easily accessible. One drawback is that adding a side grip will interfere with the screen's flip-out featu... Read More
The cage has plenty of extra 1/4 20 and 3/8 16 mounting points all over, allowing you to mod it up the way you want. Multiple mount options on the bottom for tripod or gimbal. Side reinforcement for the hdmi connection that can get loose over time.
Cons
The left shoulder tether locking latch can potentially block the zv-e1s usb-c door. The channel to open the battery door is too small and, inherently, improperly designed. No amount of cage/camera finesse will change that.
Highlights

This is one of the cheapest options on the market and for me that merited five stars.
Packaging/appearance
This camera cage for the sony zv-e1 arrives in a plain looking, neewer branded, cardboard box.
Competitiveness
This cage will compete with the other well known brands out there.
It makes the sony zv-e1 an even more professional and serious machine for enthusiasts and beginners alike.
However, the problem is that smallrig makes an ever-so-slightly better cage for ever-so-slightly cheaper.
