Pros & Cons
Pros
Bought this thing to measure pinion bearing pre-load on my sterling 10. It works great. It's kind of a hassle using the adapter on the pinion socket (the adapter comes out in the socket--not a big deal though).
Cons
Pound feet equals 10 newton meters instead of 13. The readings on the handle are very hard to read without a magnifying glass. The metric scale is 2 nm per turn.
I couldn't tighten anything which is sort of a key purpose for a torque wrench. Now i have to pay to have them drilled and rethreaded. Be careful if you use this on fasteners in aluminum or plastic, my wrench torques much tighter than its setting.
Highlights
Quality
Easy to use good feel nice case the clicks you hear for adjustments and a nice crisp snap-click when you hit your torque set
The item seemed to be of very good quality.
Not trusting the clicker lately after it failed on one difficult bolt.
This neiko 03727a 1/4-inch-drive beam torque wrench measures in imperial and metric increments, and is smaller than my craftsman.
Price
I had it tested by my dealer and it was on the money out of the box.
Was kind of excessive for what might be a single use, but renting one was gong to be the same price.
This is a cost effective way to be able to do both things.
Packaging/appearance
This wrench was smaller that i thought when i saw it pictured, but that is fine by me for what i am going to use it for.
