Pros
The instructions say that you should attach the transmitters directly to the appliance you're trying to control covering the ir receiver on the appliance. Connected usb to my shaw gateway cable box to provide power.
It can therefore easily be incorporated into the decor without being too apparent. Had a problem with the adhesion on ir emitters but seller rectified. Couldn't go wrong for the price.
Cons
The sending nodes seem to only work intermittently. The wires are too short to reach an on mantle tv and a side table. You have to stand 3 feet away from the sensor in order for it to work.

This isnt a good buy if you want a clean setup because the receiver is a big clunk with an annoying and useless green led

In my office had one tv cable box in the rec room but also wanted to use it in the kitchen about 20 ft away

I have an entertainment unit with solid wood doors so the remotes for our pvr and dvd player obviously dont work unless we leave the doors open

As other reviewers have mentioned there is a usb plug to provide power to the receiver and transmitter but the instructions warn that you shouldnt leave the repeater powered on all the time or it will shorten its lifespan
