Pros

The display on this meter is better than any i have ever used, period! This is a great meter for $40 and it comes with two aa batteries. The construction/build quality of the meter is surprisingly good for something in the sub-$50 range.

The best part is the dial selector for range. The display also displays digital, analog on most functions, as well as a lit led green light. It even comes with a built in flashlight which is something i have never seen before.

The only downside is that it doesn't pick up the ripple voltage on a dc supply. I really like the ncv and live functions to check for a safe circuit before clipping wires. I use it for mainly custom automotive use so it is more then perfect for me.

Dm100c has no transistor test port, but the nice layout of the easy to use, single function sel and hold * and large display are worth not having the transistor tester in this meter. Ncv is good for sensing a live ac circuit and then you can use the l... Read More

The ncv feature is nice. A handy feature. It also stays on quite a while before auto shutdown. The temperature measurement feature is also a nice bonus.

Cons

Display is dim and hard to read in anything other than a dark cave. Attempted to make a manual and automatic dc voltage measurement - got nothing. Set the meter to ohms, touched the probes together - nothing.

Aa batteries will last for100 hours if you manage to turn on the meter, after it turns off, every 15 minutes, 400 times.

I've been ase certified in electrical diag for 33 years now, so have gone through a few meters.

This is a great meter for $40 and it comes with two aa batteries.

It's really nice to have this function in a $40 dmm.

Ridiculously cheap for what it can do, if you know what you're doing.

I have to admit, i wasn't expecting much for a $40 dmm.

They've packed quite a lot of functionality into this meter.

I tried a different k-type sensor, and it read the same high number.
