Pros
Disks are sturdier than darts, and easier to release from the gun if it jams than darts.
This gun is good enough to invest in an extra mag or 2. It is a rifle and easyer to handle, shot & more like what he wanted. The gun is very easy to load, unlike the dart nerf guns.
It's fun, and especially suited to younger kids. Lol my son is 5 years old, and i wouldn't consider this dangerous for him. Overall, we are completely satisfied with this toy.
The blaster is one of my favorite, a very future tactical styled gun. The detachable stock is sturdy and fits comfortably on both adult and children.
Once this blaster is cocked, the sneak up factor is still an option. The gun is durable and does not jam like some of the other models. The big thing is not more jamming of the gun.
