This is my first dehydrator and am pleased with the purchase.
I am just happy to have a working dehydrator and i was thrilled with the results; great homemade jerky!
Bought this in conjunction with the apple peeler to dry fruits.
It's a franklin arsenal brass drier with the trays, temp gage and everything.
Packaging/appearance
We put the shelves in the dishwasher to clean them with no problems.
Competitiveness
The dehydrator has been running almost constantly since i received it, it's a perfect match to my foodsaver.
All-in-all, this may not be a professional grade unit; but you're not paying a professional grade price either.

As for the 500 watts being a little weak i ruined a batch of paprika by trying to hurry and turned the temp all the way up

I received one of these as a christmas present from my inlaws and i was very excited to use it

It really sucked because i prepared 3 lbs of meat to load into the dehydrator just to find out it was not working

I had a slight disappointment when the replacement arrived and found the jerky gun didnt work the trigger wasnt engaging the bar so it wouldnt extrude the jerky unless you constantly pushed on the back of it

I really like there is many racks to use but the piece must remain thinner in order to use
